Wartime History
During the Pacific War, Anchorage was an important base area supporting U.S. forces in Alaska and the Aleutians Campaing and Lend-Lease deliveries to Russia.

Fort Richardson
U.S. Army base located near Anchorage, today part of Joint Base Richardson-Elmendorf. Included Fort Richardson Post Cemetery where American personnel were buried during the Pacific War.

Elmendorf Field (Elmendorf AFB)
Prewar airfield used during World War II.

Alaskan Aviation Heritage Museum (AAHM)
Aviation museum with a large collection of aircraft related to Alasaka's aviation history.
