Lat 22° 20' 18N Long 91° 49' 54E Chittagong boders the Bay of Bengal in the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh.
Wartime History
British forces used Chittagong as a base. Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) aircraft bombed during April 1942 and on December 20, 24 1942 which resulted in the British relocating to Comilla. Neverless the war had a major negative impact on the city, with the growth of refugees and resulted in "The Great Famine" of 1943.
