The flag is handed over by Lt. Col. T. W. R. Cotton to the Netherlands Indies Civil Administration (NICA) officer and a copy of the instrument of surrender of Japanese forces on Borneo signed by Imperial Japanese Navy Rear Admiral Yamada.
