Location
Lat 6° 40' 47S Long 155° 28' 47E Tonu is an inland village in southern Bougainville Island in the South Bougainville District of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (Bougainville Province) in Papua New Guinea (PNG). To the east is Konga and Buin (Buin Town).
Today
During the late 1990s, following the Bougainville Crisis, a Peace Monitoring Group (PMG) barebase was established at Tonu/Konga.
