Location
Victoria Harbor borders Hong Kong Island and Takao Harbor and Hong Kong Harbor. Prewar and during the Pacific War, Hong Kong was a British colony. Today, part of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of People's Republic of China.

Wartime History
At the start of the Pacific War, British Army General Christopher Maltby incorrectly believed the Japanese would invade Hong Kong by crossing Victoria Harbor. On December 25, 1941 after the British Army surrender, used by the Japanese as an anchorage for the remainder of the Pacific War. During the Japanese occupation, Japanese shipping in Victoria Harbor was targeted by U.S. bombers and fighters from the 10th Air Force, 14th Air Force, U.S. Navy (USN) and during early 1945 by bombers from the Far East Air Force (FEAF) that targeted shipping and later laid mines.
