Location
Lat 9° 30' 52N Long 138° 7' 45E  Colonia is located on the southern end of Yap Island in the Yap Island Group (Yup Islands) in Yap State in the Federated State of Micronesia. Also known as Yap Town, Yaptown Doanguuc, Korronii, Kolonie, Yappu, Wa'ab or Wa'ab. Borders Tamil Harbor to the east. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Caroline Islands. Today located in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia.

Wartime History
During the Pacific War, Colonia was occupied by the Japanese until the garrison surrendered on September 5, 1945.

Colonia Airfield (Yap Airport)
Built by the Japanese, still in use today as Yap Airport.

Tomil Airfield
Construction begun by Japanese, bombed in 1944 and abandoned.
