Location
Lat 23° 16' 42N Long 120° 18' 52E Liuying is located in Tainan Municipality in the center west of Taiwan (Formosa) in the Southern Taiwan Region. During the Japanese colonial era and Pacific War known as Shenei. Today known as Liuying. In Chinese 柳營區. Also known as Liu-ying, Ch'a-mu-ying, Liouying or Liuying District.
Wartime History
During World War II, Shenei was occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War until the official surrender of Japan in September 1945. During 1945, attacked by American fighters and bombers.
