More than 10,000 Australian and Allied troops observe the official surrender ceremony on the 1st Australian Corps sports ground on Morotai Island. At the center is a table with senior Allied leaders including Commander-in-Chief of the Australian  Military Forces, General Thomas Blamey. In the distance (behind the loud speaker) is the Japanese surrender delegation including Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) Lt. General Fusataro Teshima, commander 2nd Imperial Japanese Army and other senior Japanese officials.
