    Saumlaki (Saumlakki) Tanimbar Islands | Maluku Province Indonesia
Location
Lat 7° 59' 17S Long 131° 18' 20E  Saumlaki is located near the southern coast of Yamdena Island (Jamdena) in the Tanimbar Island Group (Tanimbar Islands). Borders Saumlaki Bay (Saumlakki Bay). Prewar and wartime spelling "Saumlakki". Located in the Tanimbar Island Group (Timur Laut). During the Pacific War, known as Saumlakki and located in the Dutch East Indies. Today located in the Western Southeast Maluku Regency in Maluku Province (Provinsi Maluku) of Indonesia. Today, Saumlaki is the largest town and center and administrative center in the area.

Wartime History
During 1942, Saumlaki was occupied by the Japanese forces until then official surrender of Japan in September 1945. Starting in March 1943 until August 1944 attacked by Allied aircraft based in northern Australia.
