Location
Haha Jima is the second largest island in the Bonins Islands (Volcano Islands, Ogasawara Islands) in the Ogasawara Subprefecture in Japan. In Japanese, Haha Jima means "Mother Island". Previously known as Coffin Island or Hillsborough Island. The island has an area of roughly 21 square kilometers with the highest point Chibusayama (Breast Mountain) with an elevation of 1,516' / 462m.

Wartime History
During late September 1944 attacked by American bombers and later fighters until neutralized by April 1945.
