Location Lat 43° 50' 30" N Long 126° 33' 38" E Jilin or Jilin City 吉林市 is located in the centeral Kirin Region of Manchuria in northeast China. Also spelled Chi-lin or Kirin and was the capital of Manchukuo until March 13, 1932 when the Japanese moved the capital west to Hsinking (Changchun). Between 1932–1945 part of Manchuko (Empire of Manchukuo). Today part of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Wartime HIstory During the late 1930s, the Shintan Military Hospital was located in Kirin. Jilin Airfield (Jilin Ertaizi Airport) Used as a military airfield until closed 2005.
