Location Lat 44° 34' 60N Long 129° 35' 60E Mudanjiang 牡丹江 (Mutankiang) is located at an elevation of 830' / 252m in the northeast of Manchuria in China. Between March 1, 1932–September 2, 1945 part of Manchukuo. Today, located in Heilongjiang Province (Heilungkiang) in the People's Republic of China (PRC). Wartime History During the Manchukuo era, occupied by the Kwantung Army. On June 24, 1942 the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) 2nd Tank Division was established at Mudanjiang.
