Location
Lae
Atoll is located in the Ralik Chain in the center of the Marshall
Islands. Located roughly 225 miles west of Wotje Atoll.
Wartime History
During the Pacific War, Lae Atoll had a population of 77 native people and reported Japanese used Lae Atoll as a
stopover point between Kwajalein and Japan. As late as February
1944, two Japanese motor boats visited the island. On March 13, 1944 U.S. Marines landed at this location but found no opposition or anything of importance.
