Location Ousassio Hill is located near Nouméa and Tontouta Airfield in the South Province in New Caledonia. After the crash of R4D-1 01981 on October 9, 1942 the feature was renamed Kimball Hill (Mount Kimball or Mt. Kimball) in honor of pilot U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Major Walter F.
