The black lines with arrow head show the U.S. Army 77th Infantry Division, landing on December 7, 1944 at Deposito and advance inland and northwest along the coast. On December 9, 1944 the 305th and 307th liberate Camp Downes. On December 10, 1944 the 306th and 307th liberate Ormoc. On December 15, 1944 the 307th liberates Linao and the 305th flanks Cogan and captures a crossroad on Highway 2. The map includes locations on western Leyte including Omoc Bay, Ormoc, Deposito, Camp Downes, Linao, Cogan and Highway 2.
