(5th AF) A lone B-17 bombs Garove Island.

September 9, 1943
(5th AF) Heavy bombers attack Garove Island.

October 30, 1943
(5th AF) B-25s attack Vitu Island. Lost is B-25D 41-30318 (MIA).

November 8, 1943
(5th AF) B-24's on armed reconnaissance bomb Garove.

February 11, 1944
(5th AF) Two B-24s bomb Garove Island.

March 19, 1944
(5th AF) P-40s attack a bivouac area and AA on Garove Island.

March 21, 1944
(5th AF) P-40s and A-20s on armed reconnaissance attack targets on New Britain and on Garove Island.

March 27, 1944
(RAAF) P-40 Warhawks from 78 Squadron bombed and strafed A. A. positions on Garove Island, one bomb landing in target area and another in bivouac area. The A. A. area was strafed with unobserved results. Ref: 78 Squadron Operations Record Book (ORB) - March 27, 1944
