Location
Awrin Island is located at the southern edge of Thilenius Harbor (Gasmata Harbor) off Gasmata on the southern coast of New Britain. Also spelled Awirin, Arawin or Avirin. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the New Britain District in the Territory of New Guinea. Today located in West New Britain Province (WNB) in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
