Wartime History
During early February 1942, occupied by the Japanese Army. Between 1942-1945 attacked by Allied aircraft. On March 10, 1945 the Australian Army landed at Wide Bay and established their headquarters at Lamarien. On June 5, 1945, the 2/2nd Commando Squadron also
established their headquarters at Lamarien.
