Location
The Sea of Okhotsk is a marginal sea in the northwest Pacific Ocean spanning from the Kamchatka Peninsula to the east, Kurile Islands (Kuril) to the southeast and Hokkaido to the south, Sakhalin Island to the west and Siberia to the west and north including Okhotsk and the mouth of the Okhota River. To the northeast is Shelikhov Gulf. Borders Russia and Japan. In Russian spelled Охо́тское мо́ре (Okhotskoye more). In Japanese known as Ohōtsuku-kai.
