In the foreground is concertina wire with a raft and at the far left is a tank barrier. Beyond is the Ilu River (Alligator Creek) and the grove of coconut plams where the Japanese Army 28th Infantry Regiment "Ichiki Regiment" attacked the U.S. perimeter and was defeated.
