(13th AF) B-25's and several fighters sent against forces near Vella Lavella, fail to locate the target and strafe Buki and Ganongga Islands, and a destroyer beached on southeastern Kolombangara.

July 17, 1943
(13th AF, USN, USMC) B-25's, P-40's, and P-38's strafe two barges northeast of Ganongga, leaving them sinking.

August 26, 1943
(13th AF) P-40s strafe two large motor boats and a  100' steam vessel off Ganongga.
