Location
Lat 21° 8' 22S Long 175° 12' 6W  Nukualofa is located on the north coast of Tongatapu (Western Tongatapu) in the Tonga Island Group. Also known as "Nuku'alofa". Borders to the north Nukualofa Harbor / Tongatapu Harbor to the north. Pronounced "Nuke-ahh-lofa".

Wartime History
On May 10, 1942 the first U.S. Navy (USN) convoy and personnel landed at Nukualofa. The 1st Construction Battalion (Seabees) built the main wharf.
