Location Kuop Atoll is located in Chuuk State (Truk) in the Federated States of Micronesia. To the northwest is Truk Lagoon. Also known as the Kuop Islands or Neoch Islands. A fringing coral reef surrounds four islands: Givry Island, Hacq Island, Lauvergne Island, South Island. Wartime History During the Pacific War, Kuop (Neoch) was occupied by the Japanese until the official surrender of Japan in September 1945.
