Location
Ollan Island is a small island at the southwest edge of Truk Lagoon in Chuuk State (Truk) in the Federated States of Micronesia. Also known as "Onnang".
Wartime History
During the Pacific War, there were two 150mm coastal defense guns (5.9" guns) in shields in partially revetted emplacements. A detachment of personnel from the Imperial Japanese Navy, 43rd Naval Guard Force defended Ollan Island. A barracks was located inshore on the ocean side and a pier on the lagoon side.
