PB The first wreck I saw was
the Boeing B-17E at Wau. The experience was a very powerful one,
as if I had gone back in time.
I had gone there with a local guy
I worked with who knew exactly where it was. So of course we got
lost and finally only found it when we saw the sun reflecting off
it on a distant hill and found some local village guides who took
us in.
As it is on a grassy hill, it is easy
to get a good perspective- it is even visible from the air and is
used as a turning point for small aircraft flights to Port Moresby.�
After seeing this wreck I just wanted to find more, and spent the
next few years doing that.
