Field burial with a tag that reads "Here lies a Marine or Soldier unknown but to God" on Guadalcanal
The grave marker was created by a pair of sticks forming a a cross plus two Japanese Type 92 heavy machine gun 30 round feed strips. In the foreground is a stake with a U.S. doughboy helmet.
