2nd Lt. A. T. House with P-40E "Hero's Poopy"
On the left side of the nose is the nickname "Hero's Poopy" (in quotes) in a cursive style. Below the cockpit canopy was stenciled "Lt. A. T. House" and "Sgt G. W. White" with two Japanese rising sun flags indicating his two aerial victory claims on March 14, 1942 over Horn Island. Below is the U.S. Army Air Force serial stencil. At the center of the nose forward of the canopy is the manual ring sight and post for manual aiming if the reflector gun sight fails. Seated on the left side of the cockpit with the canopy open is 2nd Lt. A. T. House wearing shorts and his flight helmet with goggles.
