P-38 Lightning scoreboard for Lt. Col. Gerald R. Johnson
The left side of the nose has the name "Lt Col. G. R. Johnson" in cursive with a scoreboard with flags (5 x 5) indicating aerial victories against Japanese aircraft represened by rising sun flags. In the center is a single Australian flag representing the accidental shoot down of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boomerang A46-136 on November 15, 1943.
