Sept 2 - Capt Stratton [Captain Eldon E. Stratton pilot P-39 Airacobra MIA August 30, 1943] , Eddy [2nd Lt. Jack B. Eddy pilot P-39N 42-190?? MIA August 18, 1943] & Joe Hill [2nd Lt. Joseph W. Hill pilot P-40F Warhawk 41-19834 MIA August 25, 1943]- all shot down over Kahili in P-39s [sic, Hill was in P-40], Stratton was best 39 pilot I have yet seen fly.
Sept 15 - Flew a P-38 to Buttons [Espiritu Santo] & then to Canal [Guadalcanal].
Sept 17 King [2nd Lt. Benjamin H. King pilot P-3G "Matilda" 43-2206 ditched July 17, 1943] found on Treasury after missing in action for 2 months"
