"Ashland Youth Among Missing on Guadalcanal"
Washington, April 6 - (U. P.) - The Ward department announced today the names of 185 officers and men of the American army missing in various theatres of war and at sea.
The missing, and their next of kin included:
Ross, Pfc. Dale W. - Mrs. Mable V. Ross, mother, 78 Mountain avenue, Ashland, Ore. - missing in the Pacific area.
Pfc. Dale W. Ross, 22, is an Ashland high graduate and will have been in the U.S. Army one year the eight of this month. He received his training at Monterey, Calif.
His mother said today she had received a telegram from the War department March 1, reporting that her son was missing in action on Guadalcanal, January 16. She said no further word has been received from the War department.
