A6M Zero cockpit section at Nauru Airfield on Nauru Island
In 1984 Stan Gajda recovered the fuselage splice joint off this for Australian War Memorial (AWM). The remainder was buried when the swamp behind was filled in around 1990. Also buried were wings and undercarriages. He also recovered two engines from this same area for AWM.
