Kulitana Bay borders the southeast of Shortland Island. To the east is Faisi Island and Shortland Harbor. At the mouth is Korovou (Korouvo) to the south and Lofang to the north.

Wartime History
Kulitana Bay was used by the Japanese an anchorage for seaplanes as an extension of Shortland Harbor Seaplane Base (Tuha Channel). During 1942–1943 single engine seaplanes were moored at this location.
