The Yamato Museum (Kure Maritime Museum) is located 30 minutes by train from Hiroshima Station and five minutes walk from Kure Station. The museum also has displays about Yamato's history, contains exhibits about Kure's shipbuilding and wartime history. The museum has photographs of the different types of warships and submarines built at Kure Naval Arsenal, and many models. It is located next to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Museum.
