The Belau National Museum (Palau National Museum) was established in 1955, the oldest museum in Micronesia. The museum is located on Koror Island and includes Palauan cultural items including bead and shell money, carved story boards and other local artifacts and bai (communal meeting center). Also the mounted head of a 15' crocodile, the largest ever found on the island. Their World War II collection is displayed outdoors and includes Japanese aerial bomb casings.
