The National Museum of World War II Aviation is located at Colorado Springs Airport. Co-founded by William R. Klaers and Allan Wojciak owners of WestPac Restorations. The museum opened to the public on October 12, 2012. Tours encompass this museum and the adjacent WestPac Restorations hangar.

Unrestored fuselage recovered from Papua New Guinea claimed to be P-47D Thunderbolt 42-8089 and might be P-47D 42-8074, P-47D 42-75284 or P-47D 42-22521 that were all reportedly recovered from Finschafen Airfield.
