Lavishly illustrated with wartime photos, contemporary images maps and illustrations and is an incredible contribution to any historian's library. The second section of the book covers the U.S. air campaign against Palau including preliminary operations, Operation Desecrate One including the U.S. Navy Fast Carrier strikes, submarine operations, aerial mining operations. Next, Operation Snapshot, Operation Snapshot and Operation Stalemate II for the pre-invasion strikes, mine sweeping operations. The final section of the book details underwater wrecks of Palau divided by area, shipwreck plus aircraft wrecks plus location maps. Each shipwreck profiled has a side view line art drawing, short historical summary including how it was sunk, list of items or artifacts found aboard and technical details including type, tonnage, armament and other key details.
