Background
Henry Whitcliffe Davies enlisted in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (RNVR).

Wartime History
He enlisted in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (RNVR) with the rank of Lieutenant. Assigned to E-class Destroyer HMS Electra (H27). On February 27, 1942 during the Battle of the Java Sea died in the sinking of HMS Electra (H27) and his remains were never recovered.

Memorials
Davies was officially declared dead the day of the sinking. He is memorialized at the Chatham Naval Memorial at 66, 1 in Kent, United Kingdom.

"My mothers uncle served on her. He survived the sinking was then picked up by the Japanese and later died being moved from one POW camp to another his name was Joe Davies. I would love to hear any information regarding him."
