Japanese Prisoners Of War (POW) aboard Katsuragi anchored in Simpson Harbor off Rabaul for refueling
The carrier anchored to refuel and replenish water while repatriating 5,000 Japanese Prisoners of War (POW) from Fauro via Rabaul then back to Japan. Two of the Japanese are wearing Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) summer caps and one has a Japanese canteen.
