Aerial view of Nagatsuki burning with a column of smoke off Kolombangara Island
The Crusaders page 38 (photo caption) "A destroyer [Nagatsuki], beached and afire, is shown off New Georgia [sic Kolombangara] after the devastating 6 July attack." Visible at the lower left is Kula Gulf bordering Bambari Harbor (Jack Harbor) and Surumuni Cove on southeast Kolombangara Island. At the upper edge of the photo is Blackett Strait and in the distance the northern coast of New Georgia. At the lower right is the B-25 Mitchell rear of the left engine nacelle the photographer is aboard.
