Sinking History
This is not
a World War II era vessel or shipwreck. This Henry Lieth was scuttled as a dive site north of Madang near the Jais Aben Resort.
Shipwreck
Sunk on a sandy bottom. This shipwreck is covered with soft corals, sea whips, gorgonias,
sponges and anemones growing on it. As well, the fishlife is quite good, with
numerous firefish, coral trout, trevally, wrasses and triggerfish swimming in,
over and around the wreck. Divers can penetrate the wreck in safety. The bridge is at a depth of 14m, the deck at 16m and the cargo hold at 18m. The bottom is 20m.
