The senior leaders are observing the pre-invasion bombardment of Los Negros and eastern Manus Island in the Admiralty Islands. At the right is Colonel Lloyd Labrbas, acting aide to General Douglas MacArthur. Behind them is one of the Light Cruiser's quad 40mm Bofors anti-aircraft gun with the crew standing by.
