Enlargement of USS Minneapolis (CA-36) torpedo damage during the Battle of Tassafaronga
Minneapolis was hit by two torpedoes. The first torpedo hit the bow that caused it to collapse to the hawsepipes. The second hit on the port side amidship in the no. 2 fire room causing flooding and a loss of power.
