Background
Netherlands East Indies Army Air Force (NEIAF) No. 18 Squadron operated the B-25 Mitchell in the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) during World War II. Sometimes abbreviated as No. 18 (NEI) Squadron.

Wartime History
On April 4, 1942 formed at Canberra Airfield (Fairbairn) equipped with five B-25C Mitchells.

On December 5, 1942 arrives McDonald Field (Burkholder) in the Northern Territory (NT) of Australia.

On April 13, 1943 arrives Batchelor Field.

On November 21, 1943 six B-25s Mitchells from took off from Batchelor Field on a strike against Taberfane with six Beaufighters from No. 31 Squadron (RAAF). They sink Japanese fishing vessel Shinko Maru off Taberfane, 06°11'S, 134°07'E.

On March 10, 1944 moves to Learmonth Airfield (Potshot).

On March 23, 1944 returns to Batchelor Field.

On July 17, 1945 moves to Mangar Airfield near Balikpapan on Borneo until the end of the Pacific War.
