24th Pursuit Group (24th PG)
U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF), Far East Air Force (FEAF)
The 24th Pursuit Group (24th PG) was assigned to the Far East Air Force (FEAF) in the Philippines, Java and Australia.

3rd Pursuit Squadron (3rd PS)
The 3rd Pursuit Squadron (3rd PS) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.

17th Pursuit Squadron (17th PS)
On March 21, 1921 the 147th Pursuit Squadron was redesignated the 17th Pursuit Squadron (Pursuit) and absorbed the legacy of the original 17th Aero Squadron that served in World War I. Assigned to the 1st Pursuit Group (1st PG). On December 14, 1940 assigned to the 4th Composite Group (4th CG) in the Philippines. By the middle of 1941 rebuilt to strength under the 24th Pursuit Group (24th PG) equipped with P-40E Warhawks. On May 6, 1941 1st Lt. Boyd D. "Buzz" Wagner became the Commanding Officer (C. O.) replacing Major Kirtley J. Gregg. On December 8, 1941 at the start of the Pacific War went into action against the Japanese then participated in the defense of the Philippines until the surrender of the Bataan Peninsula.

17th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional)
On January 14, 1942 the 7th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional) was established with Major Charles A. Sprague as Commanding Officer (C. O.) at Brisbane. On January 16, 1942 departed Brisbane and flew across Australia. On January 25, 1942 arrived at Surabaja (Soerabaja) on eastern Java and flew combat missions until the end of the Java campaign when the survivors were withdrawn to Australia.

During May 1942 redesigned the 17th Fighter Squadron (Provisional). Also known as the 17th Provisional Fighter Squadron and was equipped with Lockheed P-38 Lightnings and assigned new pilots including 2nd Lt. Richard I. Bong and 2nd Lt. Carl G. Planck, Jr. By November 1942 these pilots were transfered to the 49th Fighter Group (49th FG), 9th Fighter Squadron (9th FS) “The Flying Knights”.

20th Pursuit Squadron (20th PS)
The 20th Pursuit Squadron (20th PS) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.

20th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional)
The 20th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.

21st Pursuit Squadron
The 21st Pursuit Squadron (21st PS) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.

33rd Pursuit Squadron (Provisional)
The 33rd Pursuit Squadron (Provisional) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.

34th Pursuit Squadron
The 34th Pursuit Squadron (3rd PS) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.

34th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional)
The 34th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.
