Vehicle History Built by the Metropolitan during 1941 as Bren Gun Carrier LP-2 serial number 1076. Delivered to the Australian Army and assigned to the 2/7th Infantry Battalion carrier platoon. Transported to New Guinea. Wartime History On December 5, 1942 one of five Bren Gun Carriers from the 2/7th Infantry Battalion carrier platoon attempted to support the U.S. Army 32nd Infantry Division (32nd ID) assault against Japanese bunkers on Cape Endaiadere near Buna. Within a half hour, all five were knocked out by the Japanese. Afterwards, this Bren gun carrier was abandoned at Buna. Wreckage This Bren gun carrier hull was abandoned at Buna. Contribute
