Interview Charlie Wintawa
Charlie is a teacher at the Brandi Secondary School, avid historian of the Wewak area, and wreck tec of John Douglas

During my visit, Charlie took me to Cape Wom, Wewak town and Wirui. Knowledgeable about the areas war history, he is responsible for locating several area wrecks and doing excavations in the Brandi area. While exploring the Kreer area, Charlie's sharp eyes spotted the rusted hulk of a Japanese fuel truck with the frame of Japanese motorcycle nearby.

Charlie and his students have an intense interest in the history of their home, and are able to contribute many recollections about the Japanese occupation or the memories of a particular crash site.
