Former pilot Charles Davidson with A-20G "The Hell'N Pelican II" 42-86786 at Amberley Airfield
Reunited with his aircraft after more than half a century. The photo was taken at Amberley Airfield. The aircraft was salvaged by the RAAF in 1984 after Michael Claringbould found it in 1976, but it was not restored until 1997. The aircraft was forced-landed by Charles Davidson, on April 16, 1944 because of a large weather build up, and was recovered by the RAAF in 1984 for restoration. If you think Charles looks happy, you are correct.
