Aircraft History
Built by Douglas. Constructors Number 17421. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as A-24B-10-DT Banshee serial number 42-54582.

Postwar
During 1955, purchased by Marsh Aviation in Litchfield, AZ and registered as N4488N.

In 1960, purchased by the City Of Portland registered as N4488N and operated from Portland. The plane was and used for mosquito control in natural metal finish with yellow cowling, tail and outer wings. The registration "N4488N" was in orange on the rear fuselage. This plane was operated by Aero Flight Inc, Troutdale, OR and used as a sprayer until 1970.

Next in 1971, purchased by Pacific Aeronautical Corporation in Lake Oswego, OR. During 1974 purchased by Windward Aviation owner Doug Champlin and registered as N17421. In 1975, sold to the U.S. Marine Corps Museum (USMC Museum) and displayed in the markings of a USMC SBD-5 Dauntless with code S6. Afterwards, to National Museum of the United States Air Force (USAF Museum) an repainted with olive drab upper surfaces and gray lower surfaces.

Display
This A-24 is displayed at National Museum of the United States Air Force (USAF Museum) and painted in the markings of A-24 Dive Bomber 41-15796 on February 20, 1942.
