Hajime Toyoshima (alias Tadao Minami) Prisoner Of War (POW) Photographs POW J 910 I 9-4-42
On February 19, 1942 pilot A6M2 Zero 5349 that was damaged over Darwin and force landed at Melville Island. In these two Prisoner Of War (POW) photographs, his left eye and face are swollen from injuries he sustained when his head impacted the Zero's gun site during the landing. He was allocated prisoner number PWJ 910.1 the first Japanese Prisoner Of War captured in the South West Pacific Area.
