Aircraft History Built by Nakajima. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as A6M2 Model 21 Zero manufacture number unknown. Wartime History This Zero was damaged on take off or landing accident at Ballale Airfield. Wreckage This Zero is upside down with the engine separated from the fuselage. The armament is removed, likely by the Japanese. References Ryan Toews adds: "The one photo of the engine and you can see that the ring that the cowling is attached to has a U shaped bend. This is to accommodate the MG barrel. On the M3 this ring is circular without the U shaped bend and the barrel goes underneath the ring. I am especially intrigued by the CG stencil, I only have seen Mitsubishi's version and I am pretty sure this is a Nakajima built model 21." Contribute
